volunteer opportunity: Camp Committee Vice Chair

Camp Miriam is looking for a new Camp Committee Vice-Chair, to begin immediately. The role would be interim until formalized at our April 2022 AGM. The Vice-Chair position would be a one year role with the intent of preparing to fill the Chair role in April 2023.

This position is both an internal and public facing role; externally, representing Camp Miriam within the broader Jewish community, supporting the chair with internal committee coordination, issue resolution, and leading special projects.

The right individual for this role is a people person. They will be responsible for supporting and developing our youth leadership, for upholding excellent relations with our broader camp community, as well as HDNA, the Grinspoon Foundation, Jewish Federation, donors, and other stakeholders. The successful individual deeply embodies, at their core, the Habonim Dror values, and can actualize these values by guiding and implementing a long-term strategic vision for camp.

Camp Miriam ideology fosters a consultative and consensus based process. This requires a patient, open, deliberate individual. This commitment to collaboration can add some time to processes. The expected time commitment for Vice Chairing is approximately 10hrs/month, with busier months being those leading to Summer Camp (May – June). The time spent in the role of Vice Chair is mostly focused on building relationships, holding important conversations, ensuring project progress, and encouraging deliberate decisions.

This position could also be a co-Chairing opportunity.
