About

Welcome!

Camp Miriam is an overnight Jewish summer camp located on beautiful Gabriola Island, British Columbia. We offer an extraordinary overnight camp experience for children who have completed Grades 2 – 11.

Through fun and imaginative programming, we provide an inclusive and empowering community where kids have the freedom to explore their values, express their ideas and make a difference.

Campers learn about Israel, Jewish history, social justice and the environment. From kayaking and sports to special days: from Shabbat at the Point and Israeli dancing to overnight hiking trips – there’s adventure and a little magic for everyone at Miriam. Watch this video to see what we mean.

Here’s what we’re all about:

Youth
Empowerment

Youth leading youth is the foundation of our programming. With a sense of shared responsibility and trust, we support and encourage one another to take on leadership roles and make a difference. Together, we take ownership of camp and the amazing experiences we create.

The
Environment

Gabriola Island life is good! From the physical boundaries created by beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches and forests, to the respite we create with a break from technology and screens – summers at camp give us the freedom to be ourselves and provide daily reminders of the importance of our physical world.

Jewish
Values

We make Jewish culture, history and values personal and relevant. Through experiences like Shabbat at the Point, boisterous Israeli dancing sessions and thoughtful education programming, Miriam campers have the chance to explore their Judaism in fun and progressive ways.

BUILDING
COMMUNITY

We are a welcoming, warm and inclusive community that values diversity. And, we love to mix it up! Our numerous camp-wide and mixed age-group activities mean that everyone gets to know everyone else. All of this contributes to a supportive environment where everyone has a voice.
