A Typical Day at Camp
Every day at camp is packed with a wide range of fun activities and experiences that inspire ruach (spirit), community and friendship. Our amazing team of youth leaders infuse energy and creativity into everything from the morning flag raising ceremony (mifkad boker) to after dinner camp-wide evening programs.
Here’s a look at some of the “typical” Miriam days campers can expect:
REGULAR
DAY
The only thing “regular” about a typical day at Miriam is the seder yom (order of the day). With a mix of sports, arts & crafts, interest groups, rousing discussions, fun evening activities and lots of boisterous singing – every regular day brings something different at Miriam.
Shabbat
From the Friday night walk to The Point to Saturday morning cinnamon buns and ga-ga games, for more than 70 years campers have shared the unique and treasured traditions of a Miriam Shabbat.
There’s nothing else like it.
Special
Days
Surprise! On Yom Madatz, Bonim Bash and Yom Meyuchad, campers wake up to a camp that has been magically transformed into a whole new world, complete with a day of interactive story telling, costumes, games and special treats.
Tiyul
(Trips)
Every Miriam camper gets to experience beautiful B.C. up close and personal with a three-day, age-appropriate camping adventure. Younger age groups stay in designated campsites and go for nature walks, while the older kids build character and community through more challenging West Coast treks.
